Obstacles? People avoid seeking therapy that might actually help them. Don't necessarily assume that I would support the use of antidepressants. I wouldn't. I'm actually a big supporter of psychotherapy for depression (and anxiety) however psychotherapy isn't just going to see someone to vent for an hour - it takes guts. It requires that a person be willing to challenge what they believe, be willing to see the error in those thoughts, willingness to try new perspectives, cut relationships that are intrapersonally harmful, and willingness to try behaviors that will be downright uncomfortable for quite sometime. Like I said, real therapy take guts. However, it's been found to be as, if not more effective than other treatments for depression and anxiety. As far as the causes? I'm a big believer in the biopsychosocial model of affective disorders. en.wikipedia.org/ wiki/ Biopsychosocial_model Therapy ideally should address two of those angles, while medication only covers one. Theorhetically, that's why it is more effective than medication - so long as a person isn't merely ruminating on distress.

As we get older we stop doing this and that and pretty soon we are not doing anything but sitting around worrying about things that are stupid. You just need to find something else that you like to do!

Chronic anxiety is often from adrenal and or heart related nerve interference, depression is from thyroid related nerve interference. correction for nerve interference can be obtained by seeing an hio method chiropractor. as i just stated, depression is usually a problem with a physical cause. talking is no solution, and neither is dope.

From an "alternative medicine " standpoint, just about everything has been proposed as The One Cause of anxiety and depression -- heavy metals, "toxins, " commercialism, vitamin deficiency, pollution, lack of religion, dehydration, lack of Enlightenment, the demands of modern society, etc etc. Alternative medicine can mean SO many different things... although a disturbing characteristic is the idea that it all boils down to one thing (take your pick of the things I listed, nerve interference whatever that means, or anything else you feel like), to which there is a simple answer (which often entails buying the book that the person proposing this simple answer wrote). And the obstacle would be skepticism about the simple answer. (After all, skeptics aren't going to buy the book, right?)

I'l give u an example, how does the heart communicates with the brain? in fact four ways, first, the chemicals through the circulartory system.second, the nerves.third, the magnetic field of the heart and brain. forth, the mechanical sound and other oscilations of the heart upon the brain. these four aspects are not separated, they are interconnected. for example, the magnetic fields of the heart and the brains works just perfectly as two cellphones ,one is dialing hear, the other is faraway. this kind of communication is the basic ganrantee for the other four kinds of communications. in this way ,when should the heart be defined as ill? as long as the magnetic field(actually the electromagnetic field) is in disorder, it becomes ill,and some symptoms may occur, but at this stage ,maybe the other three communications are still normal and no results in diagnosis.but it gets ill and the patient can feel it. so ,when patients are diagnosed out to have a disease ,that really passed a chronical process . this is why the chemincals can't help much so many heart problems. however, some alternaltive medicine cure people as long as the patient feeling bad.so it can cure the disease in the very beginning . to your question , it's easy to understand that ,if the electromagnetic field of the heart change, the brain receives the changes and react to it,this may cause the depression or other diseases. not onlly the heart, every cell, every organ of your body can do this.it just depends on the level of the malfunctions. for the depression, the liver ,spleen, bladder, has a big influence .
