Question: Do you know what they call alternative medicine that's been proved to work?

"Medicine " By definition, alternative medicine has either not been proved to work, or been proved not to work. @thenoseknows "Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence " - Right - and absence of the evidence necessary to prove that alternative medicine works means that belief that it does work is irrational. @MR E - The plural of anecdote is not "data " |

Yeah, Medicine. So what's your question? Quit wasting people's time. Proved by whom and for what? Even when you play pseudoskeptic nonsense, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. You're out of your league, kid. |

Your definition is false, certainly by the most important definition of the word, "work ", as in something which aids in restoring health. in addition, the common understanding of alternative is something other than drug-based conventional allopathy, most of which is a disease causing, not curing, abysmal failure according to the preceding definition. there is vast knowledge of health aids and practices outside the mainstream which is beneficial and restorative in contrast to the hopeless dead end of conventional poison pill therapy. i'm sure you'd like to think medicine gets sick well, but such thinking is delusional. i had someone who had carpal tunnel syndrome, knee pain, low back pain, pain in his colon about 24 hours each time after consuming red meat, and a prostate problem. he went back to his m.d. for a check up, only from legal necessity to renew his commercial truck license. the receptionist pulled him aside and told him he shouldn't take the pills the doctor recommended, she knew of something better. he told her he no longer had the prostate problem anyway. she asked what happened. he told her he went to an hio method chiropractor. she asked for a card. the doctor called him in. she asked how his carpal tunnel problem was. he said it was better. she said you've been taking the medicine. he said, no, i went to this chiropractor. she asked him for a card.( i have news for you. when application of your so-called data fails to get results, it is worthless. so you hold on to your bullshit pieces of paper, and i'll continue getting results which disprove them and make you look like the fool you are.) |

That's a little bit cliché around here, but I love Tim Minchin anyways. |
