Hello. I am ending my third semester of Physical Therapy, I have recently finished neuro anatomy and neuro physiology. I realize I have many years of studies including many neurological things to learn from. How ever, I know there is a alternative medical science called " reflexology" , is there any scientific proof that the foot has some sort of " homunculus" and through manipulation of it you can treat many of the pathologies affecting your whole body?I ask this because there is one in the Brain in the " primary Somato Sensorial Cortex in the parietal lobe of the brain." And there is clearly so many evidence of that, how ever I have not read or learned that any other parts of the Body work in a similar way? Oh and sorry, english is my second tounge so I'm sure I translated that bad.

There's this girl who sent me a request on YouTube that I make a 60 second video of my bare feet and send it to her, because she needs lots of videos like that for her reflexology project for college. She said that she would be able to tell my personality just by looking at my feet. She had previously left a nice comment for one of my videos, probably so I would agree , and I just gave in and sent it to her. I didn't believe it, though. She seemed nice, but there was no way this was real. She sent me this back the next day " You're a joyous person, with strong wishes and desires, who isn't often aggressive. You can grow attached to those close to you with time, and don't have many fears.You occasionally feel sad, and are an emotionally driven person, who balances creativity and logic well. If you're interested in either just msg me and I'll tell you what I need." It was pretty accurate, but I guess what she said could work for many people, so who knows? Well, sorry about the long rant, but it comes down to this is it real?The One Yeah, I doubted this was real. I'm just a very gullible person.

Benefits to reflexology, any?
I have ongoing shoulder and arm pain for a number of years now and am on the waiting list for physio for 2 and a half months now. I went to the place and chatted to the lady and she recommended reflexology to me. I have never tried alternative medicines before and dont really know the ins and outs of it so I am hoping someone could explain to me what occurs and the effects please??

My yoga instructor told us that when she had a kidney infection, the corresponding location on her foot became sensitive to pressure. She was performing reflexology on herself, and noticed it, and that is what actually caused her to visit her doctor, who told her she had a kidney infection. So reflexology essentially helped diagnose her condition. Of course she did take antibiotics to rid herself of the infection.I'm curious to know if this actually works. I have a hard time believing reflexology can actually work. What leads reflexologists to believe that there is a corresponding location on the foot or hand for every part of the body?Can reflexology be used to help stimulate an organ, or improve its efficiency?My yoga instructor has done a superb job introducing me to the world of yoga. Probably more than you could ever do for me, so please refrain from using such hurtful words about people you have never met. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say nothing at all. I learned that when I was 4, but apparently you have not learned it yet.Giant, I have heard that too. Even though you know you had the condition, you were essentially diagnosed via reflexology. Imagine if you didn't know you had it. You would have been prompted to go to a doctor to get it checked out further. That's what I wanted to know. Mr. Patrick here didn't help me. He just used very rude and hurtful terminology to describe the best yoga instructor I have ever had. He is 22 years old, and still calls people " retard" .

I suffer from chronic headaches and am looking for alt. forms of treatment instead of taking all theses meds. I want to know if either of these is good at helping headaches. Thanks
